The situation turned dire from Thursday night in protest against the suspension. Hundreds of people attacked the offices of the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police. The excited crowd set fire to those two offices. The national flag was also torn from government offices. From this the situation becomes chaotic. Security forces entered the field.

Siamlal Paul, a police head constable of Churachandpur, was suspended by Superintendent of Police Shivanand Surve after a video of him being with armed miscreants went viral. Police fired tear gas shells to control the situation. According to police sources, about 400 people were involved in this incident. Later the situation gradually worsened. The Central Security Force (RAF) was deployed to deal with the situation.

The situation was at a standstill till the writing of this news on Friday night. Police said security forces are monitoring the overall situation. After this incident, the government announced shutdown of internet services in Churachandpur district for five days. This order came into effect from 1.40 pm on Friday. Internet services, mobile data services and VPN based internet and data services will be closed during this time. BSF and CRPF are jointly conducting a road march in Churachandpur.
