Good news for Barak Valley train passengers. Silchar-Rangia Express train will run six days a week from now. Currently this train is running three days a week in both directions. The train is very crowded. Seats are rarely available. The demand of this train is increasing by the passengers of Dima Hasao and Barak Valley. In view of that, the Indian Railways Ministry has approved the operation of this train for six days instead of three days a week from now.

According to NF Rail sources, Currently 15612 Silchar-Rangia Express is running from Silchar on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Similarly, 15611 Rangia-Silchar Express is running from Rangia on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This train will leave Silchar on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after the green signal from the Ministry of Railways. Similarly, it will leave Rangia on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is said that the effective date of this schedule will be announced by NF Railway soon.
