Palestine Solidarity Day Observed in Silchar

CPIM cadres staged protest in Silchar for the support for Palestinian

Silchar, November 2, 2023 – In a show of unity and support for the people of Palestine, a gathering took place today in front of the Khudiram Bose statue in Silchar, organized by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPIM. This event marked the observance of Palestine Solidarity Day, which saw a significant turnout of CPIM members and supporters.

The event was held to voice demands for an immediate cessation of the conflict between Palestine and Israel, advocating for the establishment of lasting peace in the region and the creation of an independent sovereign state of Palestine in accordance with the United Nations proposal.

The CPIM members and supporters who congregated in front of the statue of Khudiram Bose in Silchar made their stance clear during today’s gathering. They strongly condemned what they described as “barbaric attacks on children and women by the Israelis” and called for these acts to come to an end swiftly.

Hundreds of CPIM cadres raised their voices and shared their concerns with the media present at the event. Their central message was clear: the ongoing violence in the region, which has had devastating consequences for innocent Palestinian children and women, is unacceptable in the eyes of the international community.

CPIM, as a political party, made a passionate plea for both Hamas and Israel to put an end to the hostilities and urgently work towards establishing peace in the region. Furthermore, they emphasized the need for the international community to recognize Palestine as a sovereign, independent state, as proposed by the United Nations.

The gathering was marked by speeches, placards, and banners that conveyed the sentiments of those present. Many of the attendees expressed their solidarity with the people of Palestine and their hope for a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and security.

While today’s gathering in Silchar was a regional event, it reflects the ongoing global concern for the situation in the Middle East. The calls for peace and the recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state resonate with the broader international efforts to find a lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

As the world continues to watch the developments in the region, events like Palestine Solidarity Day serve as a reminder of the enduring desire for peace and stability in the Middle East and the hopes of countless people for a better future for all.
