May 10, 2023: In a recent operation conducted by the Cachar Police, three trucks were intercepted at two different locations in Katigorah and Kalain. The trucks, with registration numbers AS-01FC-6256, AS01AC-9454, and NL-01AD-8720, were found to be transporting a total of 370 bags suspected to contain Burmese betel nut. The betel nut was cleverly concealed within secret chambers in the trucks.
Acting swiftly, the police apprehended the individuals responsible for the illegal transportation. Three suspects were arrested at the scene and are now in custody pending further investigation. The identities of the arrested individuals have not been disclosed as the investigation is still ongoing.
