Assam Govt. Employees To Get Extra Leave On Jan 6 And 7: Here’s How To Avail

Himanta Biswa Sarma
2 Days leave for Assam Govt. employees to spent time with their families

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday, 2 January that all government employees from top civil servants to fourth grade will get leave on 6 and 7 January 2022 as special holidays. The Chief Minister tweeted requesting the government employees to make use of the special holidays in spending quality time with parents, in-laws and other family members on two days leave of 6 and 7 January this year.

In the month of November last year, the state government gave its approval over the decision of allowing 2 days special holiday for the state government employees in view of spending time with closed families.

The employees will get a total of 4 days’ leave as 8 January is the second Saturday and 9 January is Sunday as informed by Assam CM. He stated that employees must utilize the special holiday and spend time with close ones especially with parents and in-laws and take them to various tourists places and religious places. The special holidays cannot be availed for any other reason apart from spending time with family members and therefore those employees whose parents are not alive will be deprived of this provision.

Availing the Special Holiday Leaves:

• It is important to note that the special holidays will not be granted automatically, the employees will have to write applications to senior officials in order to avail of leaves.

• All those who will take benefit of special holidays must submit the pictures of the time spent with families as proof to the office head after returning from 4 days leaves.

• The employees will have to upload the pictures of holidays at a portal that will be run by the state government for the given purpose.

• Those employees who fail to submit the pictures and upload them in the portal, their leaves will be added to casual leave and not as special leaves
